Campervanning looks very different for many people - some prefer a little more luxury, while others are happy with very minimal equipment. I would like to think that we sit somewhere in between those extremes and pride ourselves on only buying and storing things in the van that we consider are essential for making life easier on the road as a family.

Azerbaijan Sheki 🇦🇿

Hands down the best Piti I’ve had to date. We traveled by bus from Baku to the mountains of Sheki as we walked passed this restaurant we were greeted with the amazing smell. It just so happened to be dinner time.

It's been hard to find our groove and know what to add to our little time capsule over the past few weeks..months.

So we will start here....

So much has happened since hitting the road again. We certainly feel like different people/travellers since jumping bright eyed and bushy tailed into the travelling life almost 3years ago now.
To say adjusting to life on the road with a newborn has been a breeze would be a lie. It's been filled with the normal challenges that come along with having a new bub. Sleepless nights, non stop tears, laughs, high, lows and lots of sitting still watching in awe of just how precious a newborn is.

Yet once again we find ourselves at times speechless and beyond proud at how smoothly and lovingly our crew, yet again, adjust to life with a new member in the tribe.
We find ourselves time and time again saying...'how lucky are we that we get to bare witness to all these little souls sharing their life with us.'
The travelling life has been a little more messy and extremely slow paced this time round. It turns out our littlest tribe member didn't get the memo before he joined us earthside that we are a travelling family.
He likes to scream the car down after an hour of travel. Not the most idea of situations to be in but it ensures we are really seeing alllllll of Australia one town at a time!!!
But all jokes aside this little man has given us an opportunity to slow down and reflect on our journey to this point.
And not just this travelling chapeter of our lives all chapters up until this very moment. Man have we come along way. Its been painful, it's been bloody hard work at times and then there has been complete clarity and peace.
We may seem completely 'different' people to some but what we feel in our hearts is a true connection to self.
So why has it been hard to fill our time capsule with memories.....
Inorder to face these challenges in life and take them on as an opportunity to grow, one must go within.
We are still stumbling at times, feeling completely overwhelmed and questioning everything....but the road to inner Peace isn't paved with smooth roads now is it!?

Lovely 12km bike ride. Olivia was a bit small for the bikes so she had a go at being on the back of a moped which she loved! Was far less taxing for her! ✨Once upon a time... a girl had a dream. ✨⁣

A dream to do a multi day trek with her 9 year old son. And off they went to the Andes of Ecuador... 🏔⁣
⁣
I don’t often think of myself as strong or brave, but for a total scaredy cat I have been on some epic adventures! ⁣
⁣
👣 One of the most amazing things I’ve done was earlier this year when Cian and I and my friend hiknmeg and her two girls set off on an amazing South American adventure. ⁣
⁣
We had no guide nor accurate map. All we had was our intuition, a few measly wooden sign boards occasionally set up against a rock to tell us where to go and our own determination. ⁣
⁣
We got lost daily, sometimes many times a day. We got caught in rain showers. Some of us (me! 👋 ) got stuck in muddy ravines and had to be helped up by locals.⁣
⁣
There were tears. There were fears. There was friendship and forgiveness. There was lots of noise, and quite times too.⁣
⁣
Sometimes I just wanted to cry, so I had to dig deep to find the strength to get up that last half mile, straight up hill. Always, straight up hill. I could hardly do it. But I did. Every single day. We all did.⁣
⁣
There were hard moments, but that last day knowing the end was near I felt sadness that it was almost over. I also felt stronger though, knowing what we had accomplished. ⁣
⁣
Two moms, on our own, with kids. ⁣
⁣
🙏 Now, 10 months later I continue to feel thankful I took the opportunity to be brave and do something off the beaten path and totally unknown. ⁣
⁣
💫 I’m grateful a person I had only met a few times trusted me with a trip of a lifetime. ⁣
⁣
💪 And I’m glad to know I CAN do hard things. ⁣
⁣
🌍 Now we wait.. & plan for our next multi-day trek somewhere else in the world!⁣

I published a book! During our year away travelling the world, I blogged. But I never wrote the blog from our final destination nor the closing blog because I was very self-critical. It’s taken me 5 years to realise that what we did was amazing. So, I tidied up. Wrote the last blogs. Got it down off my website, formatted it, edited it and sent it off to be published. Just 4 copies for me, my husband and one each for my sons. I love the physicality of it. The gloss. The ribbon. The colours (bookprintinguk1 did a superb job)

Just look at the colour of this sea! We had an amazing few days on Iona, swimming in the sea every day!

We stayed at the lovely ionapods which are heated and very conveniently located at the North of the island to get to the beaches, 5 minutes walk from the abbey and right below Dun I, the highest point on Iona.

I didn’t realise how beautiful Iona was until we arrived. But it definitely captured our hearts and we’ll be back one day! 💕

Let’s just forget about the ferry cancellation on the way back and a rather annoying long detour to get home! We made it and I’m pleased that I feel much more capable of taking the kids away on my own. I think that was the first time I’ve driven onto the ferry myself (aside the tiny one to Gigha!).

Happy Wednesday, Guys!

I hope you had an eggcellent Easter weekend and enjoying the Easter Break.

This Easter, we decided to book a #staycation in North #Devon for the long bank holiday weekend, and we couldn't have picked a better place.

TheMoleResort currently has 15 new three- and four-bedroom luxury lodges. We stayed in one of the three-bedroom lodges and were blown away by the beautiful decor and spaciousness. The lodge was modern and extensively equipped for all our needs, including a full kitchen with all the amenities, a hot tub, and even a BBQ outside for alfresco dining.

We loved the bi-folding doors that opened onto the full-length patio, making it perfect for entertaining and letting in natural light. Two bedrooms had sliding doors onto the deck, making the lodge feel even more spacious and bright.

#TheMoleResort is also perfect for families travelling with children, as each room can easily split into two single beds. We love having our privacy when possible, and the boys loved having their rooms with their beds. Plus, our lodge had an ensuite bathroom with a master and another family bathroom with a shower and a tub.

One of the best parts of our stay was the extra activities available at the resort, including an Easter Egg Hunt and an onsite petting zoo hosted by ExmoorZoo. The boys loved both, and we also had access to several different activities on the #HighbullenEstate, including:
- Indoor Swimming Pool
- Gym and Gym Classes
- Tennis And Pickle-ball
- Footgolf and Disc Golf
- Cycling
- Croquet
- Football

If you want to explore outside the Mole Resort, it's ideally located for easy access to Westward Ho! Beach and Exmoor Zoo, both of which are great options for young and old alike.

Overall, we had a fantastic time at The #MoleResort and didn't feel the need to leave the grounds at all. It's the perfect choice for groups, couples, and families looking for a UK countryside staycation. Don't miss out on this gem!
